Business Updates

A few of the women from the Kigali economic empowerment group gathered in November to share updates on their businesses and how they have applied their learnings. Because of the training, these women have grown their businesses, learned how to effectively budget and save, and are dreaming of ways to continue to improve their businesses.

Meet Beatrice.

When Beatrice joined the training, she had no place to work. During one of the workshops, the group discussed the market and how to identify opportunities within a location. After the first training, Beatrice rented a small house to run a beauty salon. As her business increased, she applied what she learned about budgeting and savings. In three months, Beatrice was able to save 180,000 RWF and used her savings to rent a better house, hire a business helper, and purchase materials for her salon. Now, she is running her business, and it is continuing to grow.

Meet Angelique.

Before the training, Angelique didn’t know how to separate personal and business expenses. Now, she is effectively managing her personal and business finances. Through the training, Angelique has learned how to budget and save. Her capital has increased and her business and personal life are improving.
